  East What is the approximate pitch of the roof? What is the thickness of the loft insulation? If there are cavity walls, is cavity wall insulation fitted?

About the current heating system What type of hot water system do you have? Is there a hot water cylinder? What insulation is fitted to the hot water cylinder? Is there a thermostat on the hot water cylinder? If you have a hot water cylinder do you have space for a larger one, (usually the same diameter but taller)? Do the radiators have thermostatic radiator valves fitted? What are the main heating controls?

Further general questions Are energy efficient appliances being used (A rated appliances)? Do you bath or shower? Do you have an electrically heated shower? If you have an electrically heated shower, would you change it?
If you normally shower using an electrically heated shower, then you would not get the full benefit from solar hot water.
