Environmental Policy

Our main business is supplying and installing solar water heating and wood fuelled boilers to domestic and small commercial properties. We also work with architects and housing associations on new-build and retro fit projects.

Our mission statement from 2002 remains:

'Eco-Exmoor strives to raise the profile of ecological products, promote the conservation of resources and implement the use of renewable energy.'

Eco-Exmoor recognises that its activities have an impact on the environment. In all our activities, working practices and business relationships, we are committed to protecting, conserving and enhancing all aspects of the environment over which we have control or influence.

We shall ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and regulations and take action to continuously improve our environmental performance.

In particular we shall:

• Take environmental considerations into account when selecting our products, suppliers and contractors.
• Use resources wisely by reducing use and reusing or recycling materials wherever possible.
• Improve the efficiency of energy use in our buildings and processes and use carbon neutral methods wherever and whenever possible.
• Use up to 90% of biodiesel (made from recycled vegetable oil waste) whenever possible and available.
• Minimise water use in our buildings and processes and use greywater when available.
• Prevent or minimise the risk of pollution arising from our operations.

We will ensure this policy is implemented throughout our operations by:

• Ensure all our employees understand the environmental impacts of their own jobs.
• Informing all suppliers, contractors and sub-contractors of the requirement to comply with this policy when providing goods and services.
• Periodically reviewing the environmental issues at the highest level within the organisation.
• Reviewing this policy and its effectiveness on an annual basis.
• Working towards becoming a carbon-neutral company.
